Watch Over Me by Tara Sivec Blog Tour Stop

Synopsis

Addison Snow is your typical teenager. She has a family that loves her, friends that make her laugh, and she's wrapped up in the excitement of graduating high school and going off to college to pursue her dream of becoming an author. When her mother, who also happens to be Addison's best friend, dies unexpectedly, her world comes to a crashing halt.

Death changes everyone...

To make the pain go away, Addison and her father travel down separate, dark paths. She chooses to end her grief forever, while he drowns his sorrows in the bottom of a bottle. How do you learn to live again when the most important person in your life is gone?

Addison struggles to pick up the pieces of her life. Instead of getting back to being the carefree teenager she once was, she's stuck handling all of the responsibilities that should have been her father's. She has no time to grieve, no time for emotions, and no time for happiness...until Zander Reinhardt walks in. All it takes is one little handwritten note on a napkin to kick-start her back to life and help her realize that maybe there's more to that life than pain.

But can it really be that simple? Can she really trust this man who makes her feel alive again for the first time in a year?

Addison and Zander both have secrets they aren't ready to share. When the truth finally comes out, is it enough to tear them apart or has something bigger than themselves always been watching over them, pushing them together, making sure they both get their happily ever after?

Review
“It's Life. It's the bumps and the bruises, the pain and the fear; it's messy and it's real and it's not some perfect little story that can be tied up in a bow.”

Wow. Mind. Blown.

This book is simply fantabulous. This book grabs your attention and keeps you reading until you are at the very last page. You start bawling your eyes out at parts and try reading through the tears blurring your view. I was at the edge with this book.

I loved Tara Sivec ever since I read her book, A Beautiful Lie I am in love with her writing, her characters and her story. After reading Watch Over Me I was left as a mess, like I didn't know who I functioned because it teared me apart, I just got up and done my day mechanically. Addison's heartbreak, her loss became mine so vividly, I cried for the loss of her mother, her best friend, her life. Not only did she loss her mother that very day but she also lost her father. He loved his wife so much that he forgot about his very much alive daughter that needs him. She had to grow up, have responsibilities that should bear on her shoulders at such a young age. The feeling of being alone to this world, is the worst ever hell on earth.

“People in your life will let you down sometimes. It’s a fact of life. What matters is how you handle it.”
I couldn't stop reading this book, my hands kept turning to each page and I was lost in it. This is one of the best books out there for 2013. A book that will forever stay with me. It took a huge chunk of my heart away.

I love Addison, she was the best rock a mother could ask for. She went through hell and had a hard time coping with it. Being along. Changing from the girl she was before her mother died and how to cope with what is left of her. How to live when her mother isn't living between us.
“Death changes everyone......It changes the way you think, the way you feel, and the way you live your life.
Sometimes it makes you thankful for what you have, but more often that not, it makes you regret the things you've lost.”
From the flashbacks of her time with her mother. I came to know her and love her. Even knowing she is dead, it killed me not having her living and breathing among us. She is such a wonderful person, friend, mother and wife.

Zander. I love that book soooooo much. He is fantabulous. Brilliant amazing and a wonderful person. The more you get to know him the more you fall for him. Another BBF to add and to my BH (book hubby) list!! His notes on the napkins *melts* -sigh- he is so amazing! His advice.

“And if something doesn’t fit, if one of your pieces just isn’t working, you can put it aside and find another one. There are so many pieces to work with that you don’t have to try and force one in where it doesn’t belong. You may not need that piece right now, and it may not be helping you right at this moment, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t important and won’t fit somewhere else down the line when you need it more.”
Zander becomes the push, the reason for her to live. He teaches her again to live. He pushes her to follow her dreams.

I recommend this book to everyone. Tara Sivec outdid herself for this book. I was blown away. My mind was just a mush of brain cells that didn't function until I kept reading the ending until I didn't get my full.

Will I be re-reading this book? Hell yes!

“Another good thing about Legos(LIFE). If it falls apart, it doesn’t mean it’s destroyed. It just means you have to pick up the pieces and start again.”

“Everyone gets knocked down once in a while. The important thing is that you pick yourself back up again. You pick up, you move on, and you do your best.”

"I've been craving attention like this from someone for so long that even the simple act of cleaning off my face fills me with unexpected appreciation for him and the care he takes with me."
